PRE, (Paris region enterprises) a business development agency, has partnered with the IAU (Institut d’aménagement et d’urbanisme) to achieve a common goal: the acquisition of an innovative regional marketing tool designed to encourage international businesses to settle in the Paris region.
Attoma designed an interface that met this challenge (in collaboration with Ubimix for the development portion of the project), through the use of design narratives and an interactive map (strategic design and UX design).
An initial research phase involving interviews in France, Japan, and the United States was carried out in order to identify the decision-making levers/factors for international businesses looking to settle in the Ile-de-France region. Next, attoma was able to create journeys for these decision-making levers addressing each of these factors: airline hubs, efficient transportation network, (Grand Paris Express – a project of new rapid transit lines to be created in the Ile-de-France region) relocation services (access to an embassy, bilingual schools, cultural centers…).
The Paris Region Map project has given rise to many technological innovations, (optimization of map renderings in a web navigator) as well as cartographic innovations, (layered scales) thanks to an agile design process.
