Attoma has redesigned a Supervisory HMI for an industrial production line in order to increase factory productivity. Longtime industrial interface leader Wonderware, a subsidiary of Schneider Electric, had a client in the food-processing industry that needed to update its supervisory/monitoring interfaces in order to increase factory productivity. Aware of the opportunities that UX design can offer, Wonderware turned to attoma, whose expertise in this field has been amply demonstrated by its Hypervisor project for Thales.
Working closely with the client, attoma first began this project by identifying and prioritizing the tasks undertaken by the operators during the creation of personas and user journeys. Next came co-design workshops that tracked the project from paper sketches to the “look and feel” stage, and finally to integration follow-up with the developers.
To accompany the project, the team produced an animated video in order to highlight attoma’s highly innovative user experience, and Wonderware’s brand positioning.
Attoma worked closely with the client, bringing to the table its expertise not only in UX and UI, but in communication strategies and brand identity, as well.
This project has been particularly well received by both industry professionals (as exemplified by its success in four design seminars held in France and Switzerland) as well as within the design community.
